Thank you Chicago!

This year’s AHR Expo 2024 at McCormick Place in Chicago attracted 1,860 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors. It was the first time back in Chicago for 5 years, and in spite of predictions of terrifyingly cold temperatures, the Windy City, and the AHR Expo team, gave all its visitors a warm welcome and a fantastic show.

AHR Expo is particularly important in a time of rapid change, new regulations, a move away from fossil fuels and new technologies, like Artificial Intelligence, which are changing the way business gets done. The event showcases so much that is innovative, with this year’s schedule including highly popular conference sessions on topics such as thermal energy storage, electrification and hydronic district energy systems.

The Computair team this year comprised seasoned show veterans Matthew and Nigel and first-timer Charlie, for whom the huge scale and meticulous organisation of the event, not to mention the rush of interested visitors to the Computair booth, were all new experiences.

The booth was lively with a steady flow of attendees and the team were delighted to be able to hold so many software demos. Anyone exhibiting at the show will know what a great experience it is to meet interested colleagues and to discuss aspects of technology, and AHR Expo 2024 didn’t disappoint. The team were very appreciative of the time spent by visitors and the level of engagement and questions arising from the software demos. 

A quick trip up the Willis Tower, Chicago’s highest building, completed the city experience. We’re not convinced that standing suspended 412 metres above ground looking through the reinforced glass floor beneath is everyone’s idea of a good time, however…
