FAN 2025 conference

April 2025 saw a new experience for the Computair team, who attended the excellent FAN 2025 conference at the Palais des Congrès in Antibes https://www.fan2025.org/ The conference is co-organised by CETIAT, the French Technical Centre for Thermal and Air Handling Industries, and CETIM, the French Technical Centre for Mechanical Industries.
Visiting the conference were Andy, our head of air movement products, Charlie, our technical account manager and software developer Mathew, who was attending his first industry event since joining us.
The FAN conference takes place every 3 years, which makes sense given how much planning goes into the technical programme, leading this year with topics such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, upcoming fan energy regulations, noise reduction and acoustic and aerodynamic optimization. The level of technical information delivered by leading international experts was outstanding, with strong engagement from participants, particularly during the panel sessions which welcomed debate between global expert speakers and their audience.
Charlie described the presentations as a ‘fantastic learning experience.’ The careful planning of the schedule made it easy for attendees to select sessions which were of specific interest and relevance. Topics ranging from the European Ecodesign Regulation for Fans, to Fan Energy Efficiency Regulations and the potential of a single European standard system metric, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in the Prediction of Noise Emission, were instructive as well as thought-provoking.
We were delighted to host an exhibition booth at the conference, which also gave the team plenty of opportunity to meet and engage with visitors over various demos of Computair’s WebFAN fan selection software.
Given the conference focus on rapidly changing industry regulations and the necessity for compliance in Europe, the role of fan selection software – and the importance of it continuing to evolve in order to better support manufacturers – becomes even more significant. The conference gave some valuable insights into how Computair can continue to develop WebFAN to meet those changes and stay competitive in a demanding market.
In conclusion, Fan 2025 was a highly educational and informative event, offering a meticulously planned agenda delivered by industry leaders in their various technical fields. It was also a wonderful opportunity to network, and a pleasure for the team to talk to so many attendees with such a high level of interest in the fan selection software demos, and to catch up with friends of Computair from AMCA global and Asia AMCA. Always keen to enjoy the local culture, the team managed a quick trip to Monte Carlo to round off what was a very memorable experience.
